About the Roggenkamp House

Welcome all to the beautiful, historic Roggenkamp House, located in the quaint city of Redlands, California.

Built in 1891 by William Roggenkamp and family, the house is a stunning example of beautifully preserved design and architecture, featuring the many unique Victorian characteristics that immediately take you back to a more charming and graceful time.

As you approach through the gate, and past the impressive Deodar Cedar, you’ll note the beautifully-rounded porch in front, with a roofline that sports several widow-walks, copper downspouts, and all the typical Victorian-era fancies and gingerbread.

Coming up the blue steps and through the ornate green door, you’ll enter into an open and warmly inviting space the owner has tastefully modernized to enhance both comfort and artistry while maintaining its historic feel. With wide windows and sparkling chandeliers, the rooms are open and airy (unlike most Victorians), with a picture window bench. There are two working gas fireplaces, one small in the parlor and one large in the dining room. All the rooms on the bottom floor have very high ceilings (around 14 ft), with original ornate moldings and hardwood floors.

If a kitchen is required for your personal event, Roggenkamp House features a gourmet kitchen which includes a  6-burner Viking range, a SubZero fridge, wine fridge, and two copper sinks with plenty of work space for yours or your caterers use. A large, open space with gorgeous red wallpaper and a spectacular tin-coffered ceiling, it truly is a “chef’s kitchen.”

Leading up to the second floor—with its five themed bedrooms and a bathroom with shower—are such striking features as a painted Redland-themed mural (as well as stunning murals along most walls and ceilings), custom leaded glass windows by renown artisan, Tom Medlicott, classic original milled baseboards, picture rails, and restored doors and windows, as well as some glitz and glamour (which should be expected) in its fancy bronze crystal light fixtures.

The grounds are surrounded by greenery making a serene and private environment for all events, with seasonally lush and graceful Crape Myrtles blooming at summers end and turning a burnished brown and gold as fall approaches.  All exterior spaces are spot lit and can be used into dusk.  The grounds will accommodate 100 to 150 people comfortably.

The proprietress of Roggenkamp House, Joyce DiVito-Jackson, is an artist, designer, event producer, and cook extraordinaire. Additionally, with a background in film and production, she’s also well versed in the many nuances of that industry, so she understands the requirements of both a family wedding or a location shoot. She welcomes all production companies and event planners to come visit the location before renting, as she wants her guests to be truly confident that her venue is the most accommodating for their personal event.
